This course is
designed to have students take a journey through the excitement of diverse Mass
Media mediums. Students will engage with various forms of media technologies
and concepts, such as advertising, social media, and television, to develop an
understanding about the media's impact on society. There will be an emphasis on
ethics, along with a critical thinking approach to the societal and political
landscapes that Mass Media has become a part of. Other topics may include
podcasts, media bias, magazines, and gender roles. By the end of the course,
students are expected to have a greater understanding of media literacy and how
to approach this ever-changing world built on the foundation of Mass Media.
