ART HISTORY – Half (1/2) year; Half (1/2) credit  (20 week) course

No Prerequisite

This course is designed for the student who want to learn about Art History in a fun, engaging way.  This course will be a main overview of art history, stylistic periods, and fun activities using technology and other collaborative activities.  This course will start at ancient/pre-historic art and lead up to our present day contemporary art.  This is for the student who wants to learn in fun, collaborative and engaging ways! 

 

1.      Before 500- Ancient Art

a.      Egyptian, Greek/Hellenistic and Roman Art

2.      500-1500 – Medieval Art

a.      Early Christian, Celtic, Byzantine, Coptic, Orthodox, Islamic, Romanesque, and Gothic

3.      1400-1600 – Renaissance Art

a.      Early Renaissance, Late Gothic, Italian Renaissance, Early Netherlandish, Late Renaissance/Mannerism

4.      1600-1725 – Baroque Art

5.      1720-1760 – Rococo Art

6.       1760-1830 – Neoclassical Art

7.      1800-1850 – Romanticism

8.      1840-1870- Realism

9.      1870-1900- Impressionism – HALF WAY (10 weeks)
