ENG/PHI 399: Introduction to the Philosophies of Perception

Welcome to this abridged session of ENG/PHI 399. In this course, we will contend with four salient theories related to human perception as they relate to existence overall. This includes how our relation to all others around us help to shape our understanding of ourselves, the ways in which a deeper physiological understanding of the sense of sight can reorient our consideration of our connection with the world, the ways that objects and things (not to be confused) act on their desires and show their failure when they cannot, and finally a reconsideration of how learning occurs as an intimate endeavor on the part of the self in spite of its apparent social construction.
