Course Name: Math Matters
Course Description
Math Matters introduces students to some of the history and major ideas of mathematics. The course is designed for college students and adult learners who have an interest in learning about the ideas of mathematics without having to do any math. Students in degree programs may use this course to satisfy general education requirements. Non-degree students may enjoy taking it to satisfy a curiosity about mathematics or to treat any math phobia they may suffer. To understand the material, students require no expertise in math beyond middle school algebra, but those with more knowledge of math may understand the reading material more easily than those with less background. The course is offered in an asynchronous online format structured in a collaborative manner.
