9th Grade Earth Science Mini Unit:
Human Impact on the Environment
This unit will explore the various Earth systems that have been impacted by humans. We will look at human impact on our atmosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere focusing in on climate change, pollution, and resource depletion. This unit allows students to reflect on their day to day actions and how it effects the planet on which we live. Students will brainstorm solutions as well as look at short and long term consequences of our actions. We will touch on some of the history of human impact on the environment as well as more recent current events.
