Two-dimensional figures are the foundation of Geometry. The attended audience for the course is 5th-grade students. Your ability to identify and organize visual information derives from your understanding of two-dimensional figures. Geometry plays a significant role in the Arts and Architecture when deciding what materials to use and what to make out of those materials. Recognition of shapes is a foundational skill of measurement. In this course, you will classify, categorize, describe, and identify two-dimensional geometric figures. We will collaboratively and independently work through multiple modules based on the New York State Math Learning Standards and Targets. You will learn how to describe two-dimensional figures by their properties such as; the number of sides, angles, parallel and perpendicular lines. While comparing and classifying two-dimensional figures based on their attributes, describing and identifying the hierarchy of two-dimensional figures. Learning about two-dimensional figures creates a future for your Math learning. Throughout this course, you will meaningfully collaborate and communicate through different mediums of instruction. With this course, you can master many skills of measurement and data.
