Teaching 21st Century Math:
Create a picture in your head of what a traditional elementary mathematics classroom looks like? Immediately you will think back to educational practices you engaged in; repetition, memorization, drills, worksheets and learning formulas with no understanding of where they actually came from. Educators today are beginning to shift their approach to mathematical education given that the world we are living in is now constantly evolving at the speed of light. Teaching 21stCentury Skills within Math Instruction will develop a foundation for our students to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, collaborators and strong communicators. This course will teach educators how to best incorporate these skills in combination with the technology to help enhance our practices as math teachers at the elementary levels. It will help educators to provide their students with transformed teaching methods and help to inspire their students.
