This is an introductory course in which students will be learning how to create realistic portraiture. We will be focusing on the elements of art, including texture, shape, value, color, space, form, and line. We will also be focusing on proportions of the face. Student will experiment with various materials including pencil, charcoal, colored pencil, watercolor and acrylic paint.
Students will be doing hands on work and exercises and submitting pictures to be graded and critiqued by classmates. Included in each module will be brief art history lessons in which students will also discuss.
