Welcome to the introduction of Stem Cell Biology. Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that have the ability to self-renew and differentiate into specialized cell types. They are critical for tissue development, reproduction, regeneration, and maintaining homeostasis. This course will provide students with the foundational knowledge needed to understand, examine and dissect the science of stem cells and their use in scientific research. This advanced high school course will expand on the different concepts of pluripotency of a stem cell, how do stem cells revive organs, and the power of stem cells in scientific research.
