Introduction to Texas Hold Em Poker
This course will delve into the basics of Texas Hold Em Poker. Students will learn the basics of the game by learning hand rankings and game flow. The course will also dive into beginner level strategy. Some of the concepts to be covered in the strategy of the game are:
- Bet sizing
- Calculating pot odds / hand equity
- Hand Selection
- Opponent Ranging / Hand Reading
Students will engage in interactive hand quizzes in where they will be placed into hypothetical poker hand situations. They will be able to showcase and justify decisions that they were to make should they find themselves in a similar hand. The overall goal of the class is to teach students how to learn and think about Texas Hold Em in an intelligent manner as it is indeed a game of skill, not luck.
