Introduction to Ancient Civilizations
In this introductory-level course, students will gain exposure to four major ancient civilizations: Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome. In each of the four modules, students will learn about significant advancements in technology, government, education, and science. They will also learn about daily life and examples of conflict throughout ancient history. Given the asynchronous nature of this course, students will engage with videos, course readings, and class discussions. After completing this course, students will have a foundational understanding of the first major settlements and how they became the basis for the much larger empires and nations that followed.
